Usually, when a team loses a quarterback to injury, their following week opponent is left to wonder what they will be going up against with a new face under center. When West Florence senior Marquane Goodman sustained a cracked collarbone in the second quarter of last week’s 35-26 loss to Myrtle Beach, it led to Bowman Hiller stepping in for the Knights. That also allowed Lugoff-Elgin the opportunity to see him on film for better than one half of play. When you are a road team like the Demons, getting any type of an edge is welcome as opposed to heading into the unknown and guessing what Hiller brings to the table and how the Knights’ offense may or may not change.“We did see their backup (Hiller) come in and play,” said L-E interim head coach Dave Thomas, “so we do have a good idea about what they are going to do. They stayed true to what they did (with Goodman) and did not change a whole lot.“They lost a great athlete at quarterback which limits them a little bit.
