One of the perks of winning your conference championship is that you get to stay at home and face a lower seed in the first round of the state playoffs. The Lugoff-Elgin volleyball team took full advantage of being the Region 6-4A champion and opened 4A Lower State tournament play by breezing to a 3-0 victory over visiting Dreher, the fourth-place finisher from Region 5, last Thursday inside the Demons Den. Katie Ham and company made quick time of the Lady Blue Devils winning the first set, 25-7, the second, 25-13, before making an early evening of it with a 25-11 victory in the third set.
