Lexington clamps down on Demons

On a rainy Friday evening in the Midlands, visiting Lexington used a balanced offensive attack to outlast and win over the Lugoff-Elgin Demons, 27-13, on Military Appreciation Night in the West Wateree. In their final tune-up prior to Friday’s Region 4-4A opener at Westwood, the Demons (0-6) put up another competitive effort but it was not enough to defeat the Wildcats, who improved to 3-3 on the season. The final score ended in double digits but this game was close at times and seemed tighter than it appeared throughout the contest. The theme in this game was the same as it had been all season; a solid effort by the Demon defense but a struggling offense unable keep up and match the big plays of its opponent. L-E had its opportunities, but simply failed to take advantage of those and fell short again.
