Melton will keep getting her kicks with Koalas
ALYSSA MELTON SIGNED her National Letter of Intent to play soccer at Columbia College. The Lugoff-Elgin senior is flanked by her mother, Tanya Black, and Koalas head coach Joshua Kiper. Pictured standing, from left, are Meltons stepfather, Michael Black, L-E athletic director James Marlow, L-E girls soccer coach Carl Spoto and L-E assistant principal Jeff Carraway.
Upon first glance, Alyssa Melton is not the most imposing young lady you will ever run into. With a smile nearly as big as her frame, she hardly appears like someone who takes on an entirely different persona once on the soccer pitch. That, however, is what Lugoff-Elgin girls’ soccer coach Carl Spoto makes Melton the player she is for the Lady Demons.
