Miller leads way for L-E harriers

Senior Kyle Miller led a strong pack of Lugoff-Elgin cross-country runners in a sweep of Richland Northeast, Camden and Brookland-Cayce in a Wednesday meet hosted by RNE.The Demons won the boys’ portion of the meet with 35 points followed by RNE (42), Camden (56) and Brookland-Cayce.Miller traveled the 3.1-mile course in a time of 17:17. Demon sophomore teammates Andrew Mills, Conner Tully and Javier Polo finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, to close the door on anybody else’s chances for a victory. Hunter Johnson pushed hard to finish an important 19th while eighth-grader William Blakenship, who finished 22nd for L-E (1-1), would have scored well enough to ensure the team's victory.
