Randy Stokes is the antithesis of a “me first” guy. So when the Lugoff-Elgin head baseball coach notched his 300th win in the Demons’ dugout following Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Ridge View he was quick to shift the spotlight to those players and coaches who helped him get to this point in his career. Thanks to an 82-pitch no-hitter thrown by sophomore Justin Dorton, whose older brother Will also played for Stokes and was a member of L-E’s 2010 AAA state championship team, Stokes did not have to wait until Wednesday’s game with Chapin, last night’s game at Dutch Fork or, even until the 4A playoffs which start next week to pick up the landmark victory.
