When your name is Unique, it’s hard to stay under the radar for long.With both Ridge View and the Lugoff-Elgin girls’ basketball teams playing out the final two-plus minutes of Tuesday’s 57-23 RV win inside the Demons Den, it was Unique Patterson who made a name for herself.Patterson, a 5-foot-8 freshman, closed the contest by scoring the final nine points of the night --- including a 3-point bomb --- for the hostesses, who fell to 0-4 in Region 4-4A action. All Patterson’s points were scored in the final two minutes and 24 seconds of play.Patterson’s outburst came from out of nowhere, but followed up a few words from L-E head coach Von Duncan as the game was winding down.“I was on Unique’s case a little earlier,” Duncan said. “We were talking about believing in your shot.
