Perkins is prepared to take the next step in his track career at USC-Upstate

L-ES THOMAS PERKINS SIGNED a national track letter-of-intent with USC-Upstate while flanked by his mother, Connie Perkins, and his grandmother, Mary Martz. Standing are, from left, L-E principal Tommy Gladden, L-E track coach Darion Hutcherson, L-E head football coach/athletic director Scott Jones, Perkins sister, Tanya Perkins, and L-E track coach Blake Hawkey.
When you are a new coach, regardless of the sport, it is always nice to have that one senior who can be your "go-to" guy or girl to help ease your transition to the program. A five-year tear member of the Demons’ track and field squad, Perkins was Hutcherson’s right hand man, both on and off the track.
