Watching as members of the Lugoff-Elgin baseball team walked off the field following Thursday’s 9-8 loss in which Dutch Fork scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to come away with the win, L-E assistant coach Joe Harvley noticed something different about the Demon players and relayed what he saw to head coach Randy Stokes. In a game in which, even with a win, L-E could not improve on its third-place finish in Region 4-4A, there was hurt in the players’ eyes. “Our kids were mad,” Stokes said of the demeanor following a bitter end to the regular season.
