With her squad in the middle of a battle for a berth in the 4A state playoffs, Lugoff-Elgin volleyball coach Susan Morris was hardly ready to overlook her team’s final non-region tri-match of the season, especially this one. As if the L-E versus Camden rivalry was not enough reason to put Thursday’s home match with Region 4-leading Spring Valley, temporarily, on the back burner, the Lady Demons came into Monday’s pairing with visiting Camden with a specific goal, which was to do something which may have never been done in Morris’ six-year tenure, if not in her program’s history. “It’s huge,” Morris said following her girls’ 25-15, 26-24 win over the Lady Bulldogs, giving L-E a sweep of the two-match season series.
