Versatile Lewter to keep on kicking at USC-Beaufort
LUGOFF-ELGIN SENIOR BAILEY LEWTER signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and soccer-playing endeavors at USC-Beaufort while flanked by her parents, Bradley Lewter and Dorothy Arnold. Looking on from behind, from left, are L-E athletic director Matt Campbell, Lady Demon head soccer coach Carl Spoto, and L-E principal Worth Thomasson.
In football, a shut down cornerback and the job he performs shortens the playing field while taking plenty of the defensive workload from his teammates’ shoulders. Nobody has called where Bailey Lewter patrols as “Lewter Island” but the Lugoff-Elgin senior has never shied from marking the opposing team’s leading scorer in one-on-one matchups. That fact was not lost on USC-Beaufort women’s soccer coach Ed Heberling who offered the Lady Demon standout a chance to join the Sand Sharks’ program.
