There is nothing like playing an afternoon game following a night contest to force a baseball coaching staff to have to look to the future and quickly put a tough loss in the rear-view mirror. As his team arrived home following Friday night’s 4-3 Region 6-4A loss in Hartsville, Lugoff-Elgin head coach Randy Stokes had no other option than move onto the next afternoon’s game with rival Camden. Sometime around 10 p.m. Friday night, after having looked at several different pitching scenarios, Stokes and pitching coach Jeremy Ray came to the agreement that they would trot Jay Lynch to the mound for Saturday’s Dogfest matinee.
