More Than Conquerors Baseball Clinic to feature former MLB pitcher Guetterman

The annual More Than Conquerors Baseball Clinic will be held on Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Wildwood Youth Complex, beside Wateree Elementary School on Wildwood Lane, in Lugoff.

The clinic is open to children of all ages and is free of charge.

Scheduled to appear at this year’s event are former Major League pitcher Lee Guetterman, who pitches 12 seasons for the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, New York Mets and the St. Louis Cardinals before retiring in 1996. Also slated to be on hand will be Major League Baseball umpire Bob Alexander.

Those attending the clinic will be instructed in the fundamental skills of hitting, fielding, running, infield and outfield play as well as catching. There will also be a time of Christian testimony during the event.

There will be a radar gun in use to verify the speed of a fastball while a free hot dog lunch will be served at the conclusion of the day. There will also be a prizes and autographed baseballs being given out along with an autograph session.

In the event of inclement weather, the clinic will be moved indoors to Lugoff First Baptist Church.
