Making a statement on two fronts, North Central showed it can slow down a high-scoring offense and while doing that, proved it will be a force in the race for the Region 4-AA boys’ basketball title. Holding visiting Andrew Jackson to roughly half their season average, the Knights put on a defensive clinic while improving to 2-0 in conference play with Tuesday’s 56-39 victory over the Volunteers at The Castle in Boonetown. The win was the fourth in row for Kerry Hayes’ troops who improved to 4-2 overall.
