A tough week only got tougher on Friday night as the North Central girls dropped a 69-38 decision to visiting archrival Andrew Jackson.
Earlier in the week, several of the host Lady Knights were felled by the flu bug with leading rebounder Abigail DuRant unable to play in the game.
AJ jumped to a 19-5 lead after the first quarter and stretched it to 37-13 at the half and 58-27 after three quarters.
Morgan Bass led NC with 17 points while Shekee Drakeford was next with eight. Drakeford also had a team-best eight rebounds while Nyasia Joe added six caroms.
“Andrew Jackson is the strongest team we have played this year. They will go a long way in the playoffs,” said NC head coach Mitch Lowder.
