Birth boy Bowers' walk-off double give Knights 5-4 win

JOHN BOWERS CELEBRATED his birthday in style as his game-ending double gave North Central a 5-4 win over CMA Monday night.
Usually, people give you presents on your birthday. Monday night, birthday boy John Bowers gave a gift to the North Central baseball team and their fans.Bowers, a junior first baseman who was moved into the cleanup slot in the batting order for this game, sent a 1-2 fastball into right field for a game-ending two-run double to lift the Knights to a 5-4 win over visiting Camden Military Academy on Senior Night in Boonetown.The victory was the first in three tries for NC over the Spartans which had won the previous two meetings this season, including one in a pre-season tournament.“I was real proud of our guys’ effort,” said Knights’ head coach Robbie Cash. “We did a great job of staying in the game after having had a week off.
