North Central gave first-year boys’ tennis coach Miranda Brown her first win as a high school head coach as the Knights tripped up Eau Claire, 5-1, in a non-region match played last Thursday night in Columbia. Playing at first singles for the Knights is Josh Bowers, who played a tight first set but pulled it out for a 6-4 win before taking the second set, 6-0, to complete the sweep. In what was the toughest set of the evening, NC’s Jake Crosby lost a narrow, 7-5, 6-4, decision at second singles.
