Central scored three times in the bottom of the sixth for a come-from-behind, 5-3 win over North Central in Wednesday’s season finale for the visitors.
One night earlier, Peyton Hurst fired a no-hitter as host Chesterfield handed NC a 5-0 loss.
The Knights finished their first season under head coach Brandon Faulkenberry with a 6-13 record.
Against Central, NC jumped to a 1-0 lead after a half inning as Cam Holley walked to lead things off and later scored on a one-out Wesley Roberts single.
The Eagles scored a run in both the second and third to lead, 2-1, before the Knights struck for two in the fourth. Tyler Faulkenberry lined a two-out single to right which was followed by a walk to Christian Bowers. Both players came in on Holley’s triple to left center.
The Knights left seven men on base on the evening with two of those left hanging on third base in the first and fourth frames.
NC collected seven hits on the evening with Holley going 2-for-3 while driving in a pair of runs. Fellow senior Chance Mangum also had a two-hit night.
Dalton Truesdale threw all six innings for NC, fanning four and walking one.
