Knights come out swinging in kicking off season with a 6-4 win over Vols

Hopefully, this is an omen for the rest of the spring.In its regular season opener, North Central sent its first three batters to the plate and scored as many runs in the top of the first inning in what became a 6-4 win over rival Andrew Jackson on Monday night in Kershaw.The victory helped erase much of the bad taste left in the Knights’ collective mouths after they went 1-3 in last week’s May Plant Credit Union Baseball Bash in Boonetown.“This was a good win for us,” said third-year NC head coach Robbie Cash of the tw-run victory. “You could tell that our kids had forgotten about last week. They came out fresh and they were ready to go.”The Knights got off to a quick start in this game as leadoff hitter Broderick Gaither led things off with a double.
