After having opened play in its May Plant Credit Union Baseball Bash with a bang, North Central fell in its second two games to drop into Thursday’s consolation game against Camden Military Academy.Following Wednesday’s 15-2 loss to Crestwood, a coin flip was held after NC, CMA and Crestwood each went 1-2 in their first three games. An unbeaten Lewisville squad took on Crestwood in Thursday’s championship pairing in Boonetown. The host Knights kicked off their tourney by receiving a no-hitter from junior righty Grayson King on Monday. Robbie Cash’s charges then lost consecutive games to Lewisville, 10-8, and then Wednesday’s contest with Crestwood. In Wednesday’s game, Curtis Johnson’s AAA charges broke open a 5-2 game by scoring four times in the top of the fourth before putting this game to an early close with a six-run fifth.NC struggled in the field, committing five errors behind starting pitcher Andrew Galuppi, who worked the first four frames, and Anthony Spinelli, who came on in the fifth. The hosts did all their damage in the bottom of the second to trim a 5-0 deficit to 5-2.
