Knights ninth in state meet; NC girls finish 14th

SHAUN THOMAS WAS PART of North Centrals 4 x 100-meter relay team which took fourth in Saturdays state meet.
Following a regular season in which more than just a few school records fell by the wayside, the North central High School track and field program returned from Saturday’s class A state championship meet with a pair of top 15 finishes from the boys’ and girls’ teams.The Knights took ninth place while the Lady Knights finished in 14th place at the event held at Harry Parone Stadium on the campus of Spring Valley High School.Top performance for North Central was Junior Aaliyah White, who was second in the girls’ 400-meter hurdles, which earned her All-State honors. Junior Clarence Williams was fourth in the 200-meter dash while sophomore Sparrow Ostas was fourth in the girls’ shot put. Freshman Will Mathis cleared 11 feet in the pole vault, setting a new personal and school record with a fifth-place finish.
