North Central received a taste of three different brands of softball last week as Mike Grigsby and company fashioned a 1-2 record following the first week of regular season play.

The Lady Knights opened their campaign with a one-run, 5-4 loss in McBee last Tuesday in a contest which came after they went 2-1 in their own pre-season tournament.

In the setback at the hands of the Lady Panthers, Alexis Baker, Erin Humphries, Abby Outlaw and Alexa Williamson each had two-hit nights. Humphries was the tough-luck losing pitcher on the evening.

One night later, NC ran roughshod over AAA entry A.C. Flora in a 23-1 victory over the Lady Falcons.

Kelsie Gardner and Logan Coates joined Baker and Humphries with three-hit nights while Maranda McCaskill scored four times. Humphries pitched the hostesses to victory.

Last Thursday, NC opened Region 4-AA action with a 17-0 loss to Buford despite Baker’s two hits with Coates getting the third Lady Knight base hit
