eciding pre-state tournament match with Chesterfield for North Central to lock down its fifth consecutive Region 3-A volleyball crown.Since then, both sides have moved into the class AA ranks.The two rivals met last Thursday to kick off the 2012 season and the Lady Knights again came out on top against host Chesterfield, winning 3-1.Andy Johnson’s girls won the opener over the Lady Rams, 27-25, before Chesterfield turned the tables, winning by an identical 27-25 count to even things at one. NC came back to close the evening by winning the final two matches in the best-of-five pairing, 25-21 and 25-19.Ashley Rogers filled the stat sheet for the winners with 18 digs, four aces, two kills and a pair of assists. Jo Phillips dished out 22 assists to go with eight digs and a block while Ambi Wood added eight kills, two digs and an assist.Madeline Pate came through with eight kills, seven digs and an ace.
