North Central drew ever closer to adding another conference volleyball championship to its growing collection of crowns as the Lady Knights cruised past neighboring rival Andrew Jackson last Thursday night in Kershaw.
The Lady Knights swept the two matches between the two sides with a 25-22, 25-13 and 25-18 win over the host Volunteers.
The win gave Andy Johnson’s squad a 14-0 overall record and an 9-0 ledger against Region 4-AA foes with three conference matches remaining on the schedule.
Senior outside hitter Erin Humphries played a key role in the victory as she had 19 digs to go along with a dozen kills. Senior middle hitter Ambi Wood enjoyed another big night along the net as she had a match-best 15 kills to go along with three block, four digs and an assist. Senior outside hitter Madeline Pate had 11 kills while coming up with 25 digs and serving up an ace.
Sophomore setter Logan Coates had another double-double with a 38-assist, 16-dig night. She also added a kill while classmate Kelsie Gardner contributed 17 digs toward the win.
