Host McBee sent the North Central boys’ basketball team to its sixth loss in as many starts as the host Panthers overcame a sluggish start to post a 63-47 win.
McBee evened its season record after six games to 3-3 with the victory.
After having opened on the short end of the scored after one quarter in their first five outings, the visiting Knights jumped to a 10-7 lead after one quarter only to trail, 27-24 at halftime. MHS used a 6-0 run late in the third quarter to increase its advantage to 46-34 in a stanza in which the hosts led, 48-39.
NC closed the gap to 48-41 with a pair of free throws to open the fourth quarter but would not get any closer the rest of the way as McBee increased its lead to 56-41 thanks to an 8-0 run.
