In what has become one of the most festive matches of the season, the North Central volleyball team celebrated Dig Pink with a 3-1 win over visiting Andrew Jackson last Thursday night inside The Castle in Boonetown.

Proceeds from the evening benefited the Side-Out Foundation, which spearheads the effort to increase  awareness of and eradicate breast cancer.

“We would like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting our teams and this worthy cause,” said NC head coach Andy Johnson of the evening.

The visiting Lady Volunteers opened the night by winning the first set, 25-17, before the Lady Knights settled down to take the next three sets, 25-20, 25-22 and 25-17.

The victory gave the state’s second-ranked AA squad a 9-1 record in Region 4-AA play and an 11-3 overall mark heading into Tuesday’s scheduled conference match at Indian Land. NC is slated to return home to take on Cheraw Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
