Nobody will ever accuse Columbia High head coach Kemper Amick of ducking people.Included on the Capitals’ five-game non-conference slate this year were games with AAA entries Wilson, Dreher, Daniel and A.C. Flora, the latter pair which are both ranked in the latest AAA top 10. Not surprisingly, the Caps’ lone win before Region 3-AA play started was a 24-0 victory over class A entry Calhoun County.Too bad North Central was not able to play Columbia earlier in the season because after opening league play with a 38-19 loss to Fairfield Central, the Caps have decimated Keenan (55-12) and Pelion (48-14) the past two Fridays.Tonight, Columbia will come to Boonetown with a full head of steam and try to spoil Senior Night at Knights Stadium.North Central comes into this game after having snapped a three-game skid with a 26-14 win over Eau Claire a week ago. When asked if he is catching Columbia at a bad time, Knights’ head coach Louis Clyburn simply smiled and nodded his head in agreement.
