Andrew Jackson used a 20-8 second quarter run to blow open what was a close game in racing to a 78-38 win over rival North Central in a Region 4-AA boys’ basketball game played Tuesday in Kershaw.

The visiting Knights trailed, 12-10, after the first stanza only to find themselves staring up at a 32-18 halftime deficit. The Volunteers put this game on ice with a 27-point third quarter explosion to carry a 59-26 lead into the final quarter of play.

Lady Vols too much for North Central:

The Andrew Jackson girls were too tall and too powerful for the Lady Knights of North Central as the Lady Volunteers breezed to a 68-16 home court victory on Tuesday.
