Young Knights face tough test against Cards
WILLIE TAYLOR ... NC nose tackle
Having been an assistant coach at four different colleges, Louis Clyburn knows a little something about recruiting football players to a school. That is why the fifth-year North Central head coach can crack a smile when he discusses the work put in by Cardinal Newman boss Brannon Tidwell and his staff at the Columbia school.“When you coach in the private schools,” Clyburn said, “you can go out and recruit. We can’t do that. Coach Tidwell has done a real good job of bringing in a lot of good players to their program at Cardinal Newman.”Tonight, the Knights travel to CN’s Forest Drive campus to, hopefully, kick off the 2013 season under the lights.
