After a one-loss regular season, the Kershaw County Junior American Leion team had their season come to a close as they dropped a pair of one-run decisions to Marlboro County in the second round of the state playoffs. The 17ers fell to Marlboro, 3-2, in Tuesday’s first game of the best-of-three series. Marlboro County, made up mostly of varsity players from Marlboro County High School, carried a 6-2 lead into the top of the seventh in Wednesday’s second game only to see Brandon Faulkenberry’s charges score four times in the their final at-bat to even things at six.
