P-17 keeps playoff hopes flickering with 11-1 victory over Dalzell-Shaw

Having been left for being dead in the water a week ago, the Kershaw County American Legion team has not held up the third finger to signal that they are drowning.Bolstered by a five-run bottom of the first, Post 17 won for the third time in five games in closing out visiting Dalzell-Shaw, 11-1, Tuesday in a League IV game ended in the bottom of the seventh by the 10-run rule. For KC, it was their first win of the season in four tries over the Jets, who fell to 5-10 heading into Thursday’s regular season finale against visiting Orangeburg.For the 17ers, they have three games left in the regular season and trail Dalzell-Shaw by two games in the win column. All three of the locals’ remaining League IV games are against second place Lexington (8-4).
