P-17ers in hurry-up mode as season opener beckons
BRADWIN SALMOND RETURNS for his fourth season as a member of the Kershaw County Post 17 American Legion team.
After two nights of tryouts held earlier this week, first-year head coach Tyler Pike and assistant coaches Stephen Carmon and Jack LaFrage were paring down the roster for the 2016 Kershaw County Post 17 Senior American Legion season. The trio of new coaches, all former Post 17 standouts, will get to see how they did with their selections when the 17ers open the season on Saturday and Sunday with three non-league games which will be played, weather permitting, at West Florence High School. The locals will take on Hartsville Saturday at 11 a.m. and then meet Horry County at 1:30 p.m. On Sunday, KC meets tourney host Florence in a 6 p.m. start.
