Playoff hunt begins for Dogs, Lady Demons

While baseball and softball are already in their second or, in some instances, third round of the post season, the other spring sports begin state tournament play this week.

Tonight, the Lugoff-Elgin girls’ soccer team, which finished fourth in Region 4-4A, will travel to Mount Pleasant to take on Region 7 champion Wando in the first round of the 4A Lower State playoffs.

Tournament plays continues on Tuesday in tennis and boys’ soccer.

The Lugoff-Elgin tennis team, which finished third in Region 4-4A, will travel to meet Greenwood, the Region 1 runner-up in the 4A Upper State playoffs.

Camden will need just one bus to take both its boys’ soccer and tennis teams to Daniel High School for Tuesday’s AAA Upper State first round pairings.

The CHS tennis teams which finished fourth in Region 4-AAA, meets Region 1 champion Daniel on Tuesday. A few minutes later, the Bulldog soccer team, which was also third in 4-AAA, will square off against Region 1 champion Daniel.
