Lugoff-Elgin was scheduled to open 4A state baseball and softball playoff action last night while Camden kicks off the double-elimination, post-season today.

The Camden baseball team hosts Emerald tonight in a 7 p.m. start to the AAA District 1 tournament. In the other half of the tournament, top-seeded Belton-Honea Path hosts Lancaster. The second round is set for Monday, May 2. Should CHS meet B-HP, the game will be played in Belton at 6 p.m.. A CHS vs. Lancaster contest will be played in Camden at 6:30 p.m.

The CHS softball team entertains Travelers Rest at 6 p.m. tonight in AAA District 1 opening round play. Top-seeded Daniel hosts Chester in the other half of the bracket. The second round is Monday, May 2. Should CHS meet Daniel, the game will be played in Central. A CHS vs. Chester contest will be played in Camden.

The Lugoff-Elgin baseball team was slated to play at Dorman in Thursday’s 4A District 1 opener.  In the other half of the tournament, top-seeded Northwestern hosts Laurens. Should L-E meet Northwestern, the game will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Rock Hill. An L-E vs. Laurens contest will be played tonight at 7 p.m. at L-E’s Optimist Field.

The L-E softball team is the top seed in the 4A District 3 tourney and hosted Mauldin on Thursday. The Lady Demons will host either Laurens (6:30 p.m. start) or Gaffney (5 p.m.) on Saturday.

 In all instances, only South Carolina High School League passes will be accepted for free entry into state tournament contests.
