Portion of Broad Street to be closed Friday night
Closing could affect football game traffic

Fans attending Friday night’s Lugoff-Elgin at Camden football game at Zemp Stadium will have to navigate their way around a portion of Broad Street in downtown Camden which will be closed from, approximately, 5:30 p.m. until past 10 p.m.Due to the LeMons pre-race block party, the section of Broad Street between Highway 1 and Rutledge Street, will be closed to vehicle traffic.Advance tickets for game on sale: Fans wishing to avoid the anticipated long lines at the ticket booth can buy their tickets in advance for Friday’s Lugoff-Elgin at Camden football game.The annual cross-river rivalry will be played on Friday, Sept. 20 at Zemp Stadium in Camden. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.Advance tickets, all of which will cost $6 (same as at the gates), will be available at both schools during normal weekday business hours through the end of school on Friday.Tickets may be purchased at the main office at Camden High School or, at the school’s Wellness Center, located on York Street.Lugoff-Elgin will have tickets on sale at the school’s Wellness Center which is located behind the north end zone at Lugoff-Elgin Stadium.LeMons block party takes over downtown Camden: The 24 Hours of LeMons race returns to the Carolina Motorsports Park in Westville on Sept. 21-22; giving less-than-professional drivers the chance to show what they’re made of.For the second time this year, the amateur car race and all-around good time returns to the Palmetto State. Before the racing begins, however, the teams of racers and their vehicles will be in downtown Camden for a free block party at which time onlookers can get an up-close glimpse of the cars and meet the drivers.
