Post-season arrives for volleyball teams

All three Kershaw County volleyball teams will host state tournament opening round matches tonight and Tuesday.North Central, which was declared the Region 3-AA top seed after having split a pair of matches with Columbia High School, will host Buford, which finished fourth in Region 4, in Monday’s Upper State tournament opener which will begin at 6 p.m. inside The Castle in Boonetown.Should the Lady Knights get past Buford, they will stay at home to meet the winner of tionight’s match between former Region 3-A rival Chesterfield and the Region 3-AA third place team. That match will be played on Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Boonetown.Camden at home in Upper State tourney: The Camden High volleyball team, the Region 4-AAA top seed, will be at home on Tuesday against Blue Ridge, the fourth-place finisher from Region 3 in a first round Upper State tournament match at 6 p.m.Should Camden win, it will host either Clinton or West-Oak. The second round is set for Thursday at 6 p.m.L-E hosts first round match: Lugoff-Elgin, which finished second behind Blythewood in Region 4-4A, will host the third place finisher from Region 3 in Tuesday’s 6 p.m. first round 4A Upper State tournament opener inside the Demons Den.Should the Lady Demons win, they will meet the winner between the Region 2 champion and the fourth place team from Region 1.
