Camden trio helps lead TSA to Region 1 girls' tennis title

Special to the C-I (Camden, S.C.)SUMTER -- A trio of Camdenites, including seniors Mary Margaret Green and Meg McFarland, together with junior Morgan Houde, has contributed this season to Thomas Sumter Academy’s second consecutive SCISA Region 1 championship in girls’ varsity tennis.TSA, last year’s state runner up in 2A, won its second consecutive conference crown with an 11-3 regular season record in2013 which resulted in another SCISA Region 1 championship. Having won the region title, the Lady Generals received a bye in the first round of the SCISA tournament. TSA then went on to blister Beaufort Academy, 6-0, last Wednesday at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter.Green, a three-year starter at the first singles position for TSA, also played second singles and second doubles this year.
