Carolinas Hound Show takes over Springdale on Saturday

On Saturday, May 12, hounds from fox hunts located in North and South Carolina will be kenneled at Springdale Race Course for the annual Carolinas Hound Show. Originally held for more than 30 years in Southern Pines, N.C., the show was moved to Camden in 2010. This will be year three of Camden’s playing home to the event.Several breeds of fox hounds, including English, American, Crossbreds and Penn-Marydells, will be judged at this bench show, which is sanctioned by the Masters of Foxhounds Association of America.In these classes, hounds are judged on their conformation according to breed standards with the champions of each breed competing against each other for best in show.
