The preliminaries are over for Kershaw County basketball teams.After more than a month of non-conference and holiday tournament games, the contests which will decide the fates of the six local squads begins tonight with Camden, Lugoff-Elgin and North Central all kicking off their 10-game conference slates.Camden will be at home tonight to take on A.C. Flora in a 6 p.m. start on Mike Culp Court. The Falcons feature 6-foot-4 University of Pennsylvania signee Matt Howard.Last week, the Bulldogs went 1-2 in the Golden Griffin Breast Cancer Awareness tournament at Fairfield Central. Camden senior guard Josh Council was named to the all-tournament team.Lugoff-Elgin will make the short trip up Highway 1 to meet Spring Valley, also in a 6 p.m. start.
