Hill's two goals lift L-E girls past CHS

Sophomore forward Gracie Hill scored both goals before host Lugoff-Elgin withstood a late-game Camden rally to take a 2-1 victory in the first of two girls’ soccer matches to be played between the two rivals on Tuesday night at Lugoff-Elgin Stadium. In what would be a scoreless first half of play, the Lady Demons were able to move the ball around and create scoring opportunities only to find finishing off plays tough to come by against a stingy CHS defense anchored by goalkeeper Riley Shelbourne The visiting Lady Bulldogs appeared to have a spark in the second half as they were able to create more opportunities for themselves and break through the L-E defense, at times. But it would be L-E which notched the game’s first goal Hill was positioned herself in front of the CHS goal, and corralled a throw-in which she deposited into the back of the net.
