King fires a no-no as Knights blank CMA, 8-0

There is getting off to a good start and then, there is what Grayson King did on a wet and chilly Monday evening.King, a North Central junior, pitched a 12-strikeout no-hitter as the Knights opened their 2012 baseball season with an 8-0 shutout over the Camden Military Academy in the May Plant Credit Union Baseball Bash pre-season tournament in Boonetown. The game was stopped by the event’s 90-minute time rule with one out in the top of the sixth.The loss gave the visiting Spartans a 1-2 mark in the four-team event which ends with a Thursday night doubleheader. The third-place contest opens things at 5:30 p.m. followed by the championship game.King, a 2011 All-State selection, walked two batters and hit one in a dominant 78-pitch performance in which he also helped himself at the plate with a double and a triple to account for two of the hosts’ six hits.
