L-E grads Ray and Tisdale to coach in Power Showcase at Marlins Park
Former Lugoff-Elgin baseball standouts, Jeremy Ray and Eddie Tisdale, will be representing Kershaw County and the state of South Carolina at the seventh annual Power Showcase and All-World/All-American Baseball Classic.The four-day event will begin on Thursday, Dec. 27 and will be held at Miami Marlins Stadium, home of the National League’s Miami Marlins.Ray, a Lugoff resident who is entering his fifth season as the pitching coach at Lugoff-Elgin High School, will serve as the National League pitching coach in the Babe Ruth Classic. Tisdale, who is starting his second season as the hitting coach for the University School Suns in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., will be the head coach for the team.The Power Showcase will feature 130 of the world’s best players representing 19 countries, from Africa to Europe to all the Americas. It is the only opportunity for fans and MLB scouts alike to see the best international talent on domestic turf.In his four seasons on Randy Stokes’ staff at L-E, Ray has helped the Demons to the 2010 AAA state championship along with two region and one district championship.
