After a long Wednesday evening in which the Kershaw County American Legion girls softball team split a doubleheader with the Sumter Storm, the two sides met one night later at Patriot Park in Sumter with the winner of the late afternoon game advancing to meet the Sumter Legends minutes later for the Lower State championship.The KC Lady 17ers took the opener over the Storm, 9-3, less than 21 hours after the Storm left Camden with a 19-7 win. The victory sent KC to meet the Legends with a berth into tonight’s state championship game at Upper State titlists Greenwood hanging in the balance.The Legends earned the Lower State crown by knocking off Taylor Rawl’s squad, 9-5.
