Lamar holds off KC East, 6-4

In a game which started after 10 p.m. Monday and ended minutes before Tuesday morning, KC East nearly left fans at Woodward Park looking for the nearest coffee truck.After spotting Lamar a 5-0 lead after three innings, KC East narrowed the gap to two runs after a three-run fifth. Lamar upped the ante to 6-3 with a run in the bottom of the fifth only to see KC score another run in the sixth in an inning in which the West Wateree entry had runners on second and third base as the game ended.Lamar took a 3-0 lead in the home half of the second thanks in part to a two-run double off the bat of Breyson Bish. An inning later, RBI singles off the bats of Luke Amerson and Daniel Galloway’s made it a 5-0 game.KC East started its comeback bid with a three-run top of the fifth.Zach Nelson’s one-out single lit the fuse for the rally.
