Soccer camp closes 18 season

The Kershaw County Park and Recreation Department’s final youth sports camp of the summer will be its annual soccer camp. Here are the details:

Youth soccer camp: This soccer camp is open for boys and girls. Players will be grouped by age, size and ability. Daily training sessions will include individual ball handling skills, partner skills, developmental games and much more. This fun-filled week is the perfect way to introduce players to the game of soccer and to challenge advanced players to improve their game. Players must wear shin guards and bring a water bottle and soccer ball. The instructor is Peter Wittig, who has 24 years experience coaching at the college, high school, and youth level. Coach Wittig is the varsity boys’ soccer coach at Blythewood High School.

Dates: August 6 - 10      

Location: Kershaw County West Complex (519 Whitehead Road in Lugoff)

Ages: 6-14 years old 

Hours: 9 a.m. - noon 

Cost: $65 (includes T-shirt)
