Camden used back-to-back wins over Hartsville and McBee to finish 2-1 finish in pool play in the Pee Dee Invitational pre-season baseball tournament.The Bulldogs met West Florence for third place in the eight-team event on Friday night.Denny Beckley’s squad opened play with a 7-1 loss to Chesterfield, the top-ranked class A team in the state. The setback came in spite of a solid start from senior Jake Ansley, who was relieved by Kevin Collins in the fifth inning. The Dogs managed just three hits in Tuesday’s loss.One night later, CHS scored a run in the top of the eighth to get past host Hartsville, 3-2.Senior Will Hough worked the first five frames, giving up two runs (one earned) before giving way to his brother, freshman Ross, who went 1.2 innings and fanned four batters.
