Seegars earns Clemson Hall of Fame honor

Lake Wateree area businessman and former Clemson football standout Stacy Seegars was inducted into the school’s athletic Hall of Fame in a weekend celebration held on campus earlier this fall.Seegars, a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in his hometown of Kershaw, was one of 10 former Tiger student-athletes to be inducted into the Clemson Hall of Fame.A two-time All-American selection as an offensive guard, Seegars was a first-team All-America selection as a senior in 1993 when he was a member of a Tiger team which finished the season ranked in the top 25. He was a second team selection in 1992.A 1994 Clemson graduate, Seegars was a first team Academic All-ACC honoree in 1993. He was an All-ACC selection in both 1992 and 1993.Seegars was just the fourth player in Clemson history to reach 200 career knockdown blocks and was a prime reason for Clemson’s offense being ranked in top 10 in the nation in rushing in both the 1992 and 1993 seasons.
