Spring break baseball camp on deck next week

Camden High School and the Kershaw County Parks & Recreation Department will co-sponsor their annual Spring Break Baseball Camp from Monday, March 28 through Wednesday, March 30 at American Legion Park (on Ehrenclou Drive) in Camden.

The camp is open to youngsters ages six to 13 will run from 8 to 11 a.m. each day. Campers will receive fundamental instruction in all phases of baseball. Each player will be drilled defensively on pitching, infield and outfield play. Hitting will be stressed every day. There will also be instruction on bunting, base running and sliding. The CHS coaching staff and players will lead the camp.

Campers should bring their own gloves, bats and helmets if possible and be dressed properly with sweatpants or baseball pants for sliding drills.

There will be a break from 10 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. at which time campers may bring money to buy snacks from the concession stand or bring their own food and drink.

The cost is $40 per player, with a special rate of $35 per youth for two or more players from the same immediate family. T-shirts will be distributed to campers.
