Former University of South Carolina basketball standout and USC graduate, Shannon Johnson, talks to campers at the Runnin Bulldog Basketball Camp at Camden High School during Tuesdays session. The Hartsville native played AAU and college basketball with Camden High girls basketball head coach, Natalie Jeffcoat. Johnson, whose number has been retired by the Gamecocks womens program, went on to play 10 years in the WNBA and also played professionally in Europe and other nations around the globe. Her crowning achievement on the hardwood came when she was a member of the gold medal-winning United States womens basketball team at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
