Kershaw County players shine in Camden junior tennis event

While young tennis players from throughout the state converged on Camden for The Camden “Classically Carolina” Junior Tennis Championships sponsored by Kershaw Health and the City of Camden, it was a large group of tennis players from Kershaw County who left the three-day event with trophies. The tournament was staged at various venues in Camden on April 22-24 with Camden Country Club head tennis professional and director of aquatics Kevin Jackson overseeing the event as tournament director. Camden’s David Pope won the boys’ 10 singles title as he defeated Sean Cooper of Florence in the finals, 4-1, 5-3.
